Hello Salida!
Welcome to Core Balance Pilates!
I became passionate about Pilates many years ago. There is no other activity I have found that really targets spinal stability, mobility, and strength quite like Pilates. The equipment used in Pilates eliminates the weight through the joints and spine while conditioning the core muscles.
So many suffer from back pain and with our digital age, it is more important than ever to maintain good postural alignment and support of the spine. I knew I wanted to help people in a fundamental way, and a healthy core and spine is a game changer for so many. I have sustained my fair share of joint pain, replacement and rehabilitation; I am highly empathetic. My goal is to decrease pain and increase strength and mobility; This will help prevent injury and keep you enjoying the activities in life that you thrive on.
Through my career as an Occupational Therapist, I have spent years rehabilitating the physical body in the setting of orthopedics, neurology, wound, burn, intensive, and cardiac rehabilitation with all age groups. I have worked in Maine at Maine Medical Center; University of Colorado Hospital; Monaco Parkway Administration; Colorado Long Term Acute Care Hospital; and currently Heart of the Rockies Medical Center. I have a vast knowledge of the body and I will handle yours with care.
I can visualize the muscles of the body and understand the causation of postural misalignment. I use Pilates for rehabilitation of back conditions, post hip, knee, and shoulder replacements; pelvic stability; athletic strengthening, conditioning and so much more.
I try not to take myself too seriously. I am approachable and authentic, I will meet you where you are at and we will move you forward toward your goals.
